DIY Painted Pumpkins

Ooh la la... we sure do LOVE a good before-and-after makeover here at Hue La La!  From upcycled furniture to an entire room overhaul, we welcome any opportunity to wield a paint brush!

Paint has since become my secret sauce in design! I love how quickly and inexpensively I can transform virtually anything with a fresh new hue, and just when I think I’ve painted everything possible, I’m inspired to roll up my sleeves try something new. Over the years, I’ve used my own home as a decor laboratory to test various paint colours and design ideas... and after painting our family room no less than 5 times in a span of 7 years, my husband fears the walls are starting to close in and we’re losing square footage!

We’ve been busy bees working behind the scenes on our *NEW* Hue La La website, and although we’re bursting with anticipation to officially launch the online shop, we’re equally excited to relaunch our lifestyle and design blog! It will be filled with design inspiration, paint projects, DIY tutorials, AND loads of before-and-after goodness!

Our goal is to be a resource for all of your DIY and decorating questions. Want to know how to transform your kitchen cabinets on a budget? Ask us! Wondering if you can paint your tiled floor? Ask us! Curious about how to COMPLETELY makeover a room without spending a single penny? Ask us... because we’ve done it!

We want to know what you want to know! So, just ask us!

We’ll also be sharing a featured DIY “Project of the Month”, and since we’re currently in full Hue La La Halloween mode, we thought we’d tease you with a couple of quick and easy pumpkin projects…

This purrrfect pumpkin pair got a coat of Chalked paint and a clear protective top coat, then we added our “Wild Child” leopard print wall decal set, and one of our Hue La La exclusive vinyl “Mirror Mantra” decals… MEOW!!

And this frisky little pumpkin got a simple crafty makeover using leopard print tissue paper cut into strips and applied vertically with Mod Podge glue and a foam craft brush…

Have you done a pumpkin DIY of your own?  Share it on Instagram and tag us to your post for a chance to win one of our “Mirror Mantra” decals of your choice!
